Tuesday Edition: Kitchen Tip

"March 24, 2009" uploaded to Flickr by Katie Tomlinson
This tip comes courtesy of a forward that my mom emailed me a couple of weeks ago.  I can't say that I have tried any of these things, but apparently coffee filters are very useful in a variety of situations!  According to the forward you can use coffee filters for:
  • covering bowls or plates of food in the microwave
  • cleaning chrome, glass and mirrors - the filters are lint free!
  • filtering broken cork from your wine - just pour the wine through the filter and the cork will remain in the filter
  • applying shoe polish
  • wrapping Christmas ornaments
  • using as a disposable snack bowl for snacks like chips, popcorn, or pretzels
The list went on and on, listing 25 uses in total (not including using the filters as coffee filters).  And this doesn't even include all of the crafts you can make using the coffee filters.  I went on to Flickr to find a picture for today and when I typed in "coffee filters" up popped a bunch of pictures of flowers and decorations that were made from coffee filters!  Who knew?
