Tuesday Edition: Kitchen Tip

As I mentioned yesterday, we went to visit friends in PA this past weekend.  We spent the majority of Saturday at the Philly Zoo.  When we got home, I was exhausted.  I thought everyone was.  I guess not my friend J, who decided to "whip up" a couple zucchini breads.  They were delicious and I will share the recipe with you as soon as she emails it to me.

She put raisins and walnuts in the bread, and it was wonderful just out of the oven.  But then, for breakfast on Sunday, she "grilled" them in a skillet over medium-low heat.

Wow!  I thought that grilling baked goods like muffins and breads was only applicable when they were a little stale and past their prime.  That is not the case.  The grilling gave the bread a nice "crust" on each side, and when you added the butter, it just melted all over.  It was fabulous and I highly recommend it.

So my tip of the day is - grill your banana bread, your zucchini bread, your muffins, what have you, then add butter and gobble it up!

p.s. I'm linking up to Our Family World's Fun Tuesday Hop!

  1. This is interesting! I will have to remember to try that when I have some. I am a new follower from grandmabonniescloset. You were wondering if your 2 1/2 year old would wear it. I believe she would. They make really cute ones in that size and it's cute for either boy or girl. It is great in contests too. I got so many comments on my daughter's peacock, you would be amazed. I kept it for my second daughter (pictured on her blog) because I loved it so much. It truly is a beautiful costume. It is sold by Babystyle but you will probably only find it on Ebay. That's where I got mine. Orange shoes and tights completes the costume for a really stunning peacock. Come visit my blog and follow back at tootsabellarose.blogspot.com if you have some spare time. Have a great week!
