Friday Edition: Yummy Finds!

Woohoo!  It's Friday!  And it's a Friday before a long holiday weekend, which makes this Friday even more awesome.

I hope you have some fun things planned with your family and friends.  We are going to see family on Sunday and then friends on Monday.  Saturday is our day to "do nothing", but I fear that we are going to be doing lots of things around the house.  For example, I need to go grocery shopping and do laundry and clean.  Oh, and we still need to bring all of our outdoor furniture back outdoors.  And I want to try to bake something for each of the get-togethers this weekend.  That doesn't sound like doing nothing!!!  What are your plans??

I've been stalking my usual blogs, as well as some new ones, to find some yummy treats that I can make for this weekend.  I think I found a couple of winners, so I wanted to share them with you!

YUMMY FIND NO. 1: Snickers, Chocolate Chips and Peanut Butter by Punkin' Heads and Dooda Loo's

Katie, the writer behind Punkin' Heads, loves Snickers.  Who doesn't?  I could eat an entire bag of those minis.  Katie showed restraint and only snuck one mini Snickers while making these yummy treats.  So what are those treats?  A cupcake, a muffin?  Nope!  Katie took a mini Snickers, wrapped it in chocolate chip cookie dough, baked it and then added a peanut butter frosting on top.  Yum!  I hope you go see what else Katie is cooking up and also ooh and aah at her adorable toddler.

YUMMY FIND NO. 2: Banana Streusel Muffins from Fab Brunette

These muffins really do look like slices of heaven!  I love anything with a streusel, so when I saw these muffins I could not resist!  Fab Brunette feels the same way.  Do you?  According to Fab Brunette, the secret to getting a good banana-y (my word, not hers) taste in these muffins is slicing the bananas, not mashing them up.  That's a great tip!  I hope you check out Fab Brunette's other tips, recipes and adventures that she shares on her blog!

  3. They look amazing, but I don't like snickers. Something about the peanuts. weird, because I adore peanut butter.
