Friday Edition: Yummy Finds

All of my October magazine issues came this week.  I am overloaded with ideas for fall and feeling inadequate since I still have geraniums and petunias in my garden!  And I am looking at all of the wonderful blogs out there where people have their homes decorated for Halloween.  Halloween!!!  Yikes am I behind.

So I guess you know what I am doing this weekend:  getting ready for fall!  It's clear that I need to rip out things in my garden, plant mums and fall pansies, decorate my mantle, plant bulbs for next year, get pumpkins . . . ack!  I would like to take a nap too; when am I going to fit that in?

And for some reason, I am feeling the urge to bake.  Lots of the blogs and magazines are featuring these gorgeous desserts (have you seen some?  um, they are amazing).  And the pictures are just drawing me in and calling to me.  They are telling me to bake!!  So I may just have to . . .

Okay, I know peach season is coming to an end, but I couldn't resist Sallie's recipe.  And that picture!  Look, do you see what I mean?  It's doing it again - drawing me in and telling me to bake.  Actually, a lot of Sallie's pictures draw me in since they are beautiful.  Sallie blogs about cooking, decorating, crafting, and her life in Texas as a homemaker.  I hope you visit her blog and say hi!

I have no words to describe the way I feel about this cake.  Other than I want to eat it.  Now.
